our philippines ministry started with

Heir Christian Service Camp

Since 2014, we have held weeks of camp each summer up until the year 2020. The first year we started in tents and each following year we have added buildings to the land - like dorms, a kitchen/dining hall, and even a basketball court. We have also been making improvements in the agriculture in an effort to work towards self-sufficiency.

Every year we have seen a growth in attendance, with 2019 being our largest year of camp. Due to Covid and then the devastation that followed from Typhoon Odette in December of 2021, we have been unable to host camp.  We are hopeful that in the year 2023 we will be able to resume our summer activities.

As the camp grew, more and more residents from the local village became interested in what we were doing.  Relationships began to form between community members and the caretaker at the campsite.  Some began attending weeks of camp and others simply dropped by after school to play basketball or talk.  As bonds grew and curiosity spread, our eyes were opened to the need for a church and an outreach ministry for the local community year round, not just during camp season.  Our caretaker, Junel Nahine, and his family felt the call to begin this ministry and from there Heir Christian Church was founded.  Church services are held each Sunday at the camp and feeding programs, along with VBS, are also carried out throughout the year.

The camp would not be sustainable without the support of the local churches.  They are the hands and feet that have made this camp dream a reality.  From volunteering their time to build the camp from the ground up, to putting programs together for our weeks of camp - the local churches and their members are what keep it all running.  Because of that, we are passionate about supporting the ministers and churches on the island of Bohol and the surrounding islands.

We partner with the local churches in several ways:

  • Help aspiring preachers go to college
  • Support new outreaches
  • Send aid to church/community members
  • Build new churches
