Heir Christian Service Camp began in 2013 with the purchase of 17 acres of land on the island of Bohol, in the central Visayas, Philippines.  Our goal was to develop the area into a church camp where everyone could gather to learn about Jesus in a fun and inviting atmosphere.  As the camp took shape and people started to assemble, new outreaches and opportunities to expand began to unfold.

We are

and we have two kids, Violet and Otto.  We grew up going to church camp and met each other while serving at camp.  We have experienced the great blessing and joy of church camp first hand and we want to share that with others all over the world.  We oversee the operations of Heir Christian Service Camp.

We served as house parents at Shiloh Christian Children's Ranch followed by Oblong Children's Christian Home for a total of 30 years.  Following our retirement from children's home ministry, we are now serving full time with HCM as stewardship director (Steve) and forwarding agent (Kim).

The local church and its community is essential to the life of the camp. As we built relationships with the preachers and church members that attended camp and put on its programs, we began to get involved with their churches and outreaches.  As their ministries grew and seeds were planted in their communities, we saw a need to come along side their outreaches.  One of the biggest needs was for buildings to be constructed for house churches that were outgrowing their current meeting spaces.

In recognizing this need and due to the impact of an earthquake in 2020, and a typhoon in 2021, Heir decided to expand our ministry from just camp to inclue building and repairing churches, parsonages, and homes for church members.  Our initial goal was to build at least one church per year.  God took that goal and multiplied it and we are now working towards building or repairing at least 10 churches per year.  In the year 2022, we were able to build or repair 11 churches, repair 25 homes, and rebuild 2 houses and 1 parsonage.  In the summer of 2022, Heir was also able to work together with a local church in the U. S. to sponsor a church build in Africa.

Looking towards the future we have a vision to continue with camp ministry, support ministry workers, and follow God's leading with building churches in the Philippines and all over the world.  We are also continuing to branch out to other islands beyond Bohol, and are working towards purchasing land where a youth center/church can be constructed.

As God continues to open doors and show us a need, we are willing to follow and help any way that we can.  We give thanks to Him for all that He has done and will continue to do.
