HEIR CHRISTIAN SERVICE CAMP

Since 2014, we have held weeks of camp each summer up until the year 2020. The first year we started in tents and each following year we have added buildings to the land -a chapel/session hall, dorms, a kitchen/dining hall, and even a basketball court. We have also been making agricultural improvements in an effort to work towards self-sufficiency.
Our summer youth camps paused temporarily following the devastation from Typhoon Odette in December of 2021.  However, our yearly Family Camp started meeting again in 2023 after the completion of the new session hall.  This is our largest camp and we hosted around 500 campers in 2025! In the last couple of years we have been rebuilding our summer youth programs.

As the camp grew, more and more residents from the local village became interested in what we were doing.  Relationships began to form between community members and the caretaker at the campsite.  Some began attending weeks of camp and others simply dropped by after school to play basketball or talk.  As bonds grew and curiosity spread, our eyes were opened to the need for a church and an outreach ministry for the local community year round, not just during camp season.  Our caretaker, Junel Nahine, and his family felt the call to begin this ministry and from there Heir Christian Church was founded.  Church services are held each Sunday at the camp and feeding programs, along with VBS, are also carried out throughout the year.

The camp would not be sustainable without the support of the local churches.  They are the hands and feet that have made this camp dream a reality.  From volunteering their time to build the camp from the ground up, to putting programs together for our weeks of camp - the local churches and their members are what keep it all running.  Because of that, we are passionate about supporting the ministers and churches on the island of Bohol and the surrounding islands.

We partner with the local churches in several ways:

  • Help aspiring preachers go to college
  • Support new outreaches
  • Send aid to church/community members
  • Build new churches
